MLB: Chicago Cubs 5, Seattle 3 (11 innings)

SEATTLE, June 29 (UPI) -- Alfonso Soriano ripped a go-ahead, two-run homer in the 11th inning Saturday, lifting the Chicago Cubs over Seattle 5-3 in an interleague contest.

Cubs were holding a 3-2 lead and seemed on their way to a win in the bottom of the ninth but Seattle's Endy Chavez delivered a two-out RBI single off closer Kevin Gregg to extend the contest.

Blake Parker tossed a 1-2-3 bottom of the 11th for his first career save as the Cubs rebounded from a 5-4 loss in Friday's series opener.

Starlin Castro also went deep for Chicago.

Justin Smoak cracked a solo homer in the Mariners' defeat.
