MLB: Atlanta 5, Pittsburgh 4 (10 innings)

ATLANTA, June 4 (UPI) -- Andrelton Simmons had three hits and drove in the winning run in the 10th inning of Atlanta's 5-4 victory over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday.

Simmons stroked a double to right field with one out and the score tied 4-4, allowing Dan Uggla to score easily and extend Atlanta's winning streak to four games.

B.J. Upton contributed a two-run homer to the Braves 10-hit attack and Freddie Freeman drove in two runs. Reliever Anthony Varvaro (3-0) picked up the win with a perfect 10th inning.

Mark Melancon (1-1) was hung with the loss after serving up the losing cut fastball to Simmons.

Andrew McCutchen drove in two runs for the Pirates, who have lost four of their last five games. Pedro Alvarez and Gabby Sanchez both hit solo home runs early in the game to help Pittsburgh take a 4-2 lead after four innings.
