CLEVELAND, May 17 (UPI) -- Jason Kipnis hit a three-run homer in the 10th inning to complete a two-out rally Friday and give Cleveland a 6-3 victory over Seattle.
A two-run homer by Seattle's Raul Ibanez tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth and that is the way it stayed until the Indians put together a sudden attack in the 10th against Lucas Luetge (0-1).
Luetge came on with one away in the 10th and retired Michael Brantley on a grounder to second. Drew Stubbs then drew a five-pitch walk, stole second and went to third on Michael Bourn's infield single.
That brought up Kipnes, who after looking at a strike sent a home run to right.
Vinnie Pestano (1-0) worked the top of the 10th to get the win, which came just hours after he was taken off the 15-day disabled list.
Seattle outhit Cleveland 10-7 and left 10 runners on base.
