SEOUL, April 27 (UPI) -- Alexander Noren used a 3-under-par 69 in the third round to build a one-stroke lead at the European Tour's Ballantine's Championship in South Korea.
Noren is at 9-under 207 after 54 holes, one up on Pablo Larrazabal and Peter Whiteford. Marcus Fraser and Brett Rumford each also shot 69 in the third round and are tied for fourth at 7-under.
The tournament saw weather-related delays Thursday and Friday, leaving many players to finish their second rounds Saturday morning before third-round play began. However, the tournament got back on schedule by completing the third round.
The leaders after the second round fell back in the third. Wade Ormsby shot 2-over 74 and is tied for eighth at 5-under for the tournament while Kiradech Aphibarnrat (75) slipped into a tie for 10th at 4-under and Arnond Vongvanij (76) is 3-under and tied for 15th.
Noren, with a birdie at No. 4 and a bogey at the ninth, was even through 11 holes in the third round. He posted birdie at 12 and, for the third consecutive round, birdied No. 14. A birdie at 18 pulled him clear in the lead.
Larrazabal and Whiteford both had 18th-hole birdies for the third straight round but had two bogeys. Larrazabal shot 68 in the third round while Whiteford had a 69.
