MLB: Toronto 8, Kansas City 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 13 (UPI) -- Jose Reyes broke things open with a two-run single in the sixth Friday and the Toronto bull pen turned in four hitless innings in an 8-4 win over Kansas City.

The Blue Jays halted Kansas City's four-game winning streak, producing five runs over the first five innings and then opening a comfortable lead with a three-run sixth.

Emilio Bonifacio drove in his second run of the game with a sixth-inning double and he scored along with Mark DeRosa on the single by Reyes.

J.A. Happ (2-0) picked up the victory despite giving up four runs and three walks in five innings. Aaron Loup collected the first save of his career by working three perfect innings.

The loss went to Luis Mendoza (0-1), who surrendered eight runs in 5 2/3.
