NHL: Florida 3, New Jersey 2 (OT)

SUNRISE, Fla., March 30 (UPI) -- Dmitry Kulikov capped a Florida rally with a score 1:43 into overtime Saturday and the Panthers overcame New Jersey 3-2.

Trailing 2-1 late in regulation, the Panthers tied it up with 27 seconds remaining when Shawn Matthias recorded his second goal of the game.

In the overtime, Kulikov's first attempt was stopped by Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur on a poke-check, but Brian Campbell found Kulikov again with a pass and he fired it home to the far side.

Jacob Markstrom compiled 24 saves as Florida won a second consecutive home game.

The Devils, who hold the seventh playoff seed in the Eastern Conference, dropped a third straight as Brodeur finished with 27 saves.

Steve Bernier scored both New Jersey goals.
