ANAHEIM, Calif., March 24 (UPI) -- Jimmy Howard racked up 33 saves and turned aside a furious Anaheim flurry in the closing seconds Sunday, preserving Detroit's 2-1 win over the Ducks.
Howard stopped 12 shots in the third period, including a point-blank save on Cam Fowler in the final 5 seconds en route to the second of back-to-back road wins over Pacific Division-leading Anaheim.

The triumph came two days after Detroit ended the Ducks' 13-game home winning streak with a 5-1 decision.
Daniel Cleary and Drew Miller provided the Red Wings' offense with first-period goals.
Ryan Getzlaf scored and Jonas Hiller made 19 saves for the Ducks.
