NHL: Montreal 5, Florida 2

SUNRISE, Fla., March 10 (UPI) -- Michael Ryder scored twice and P.J. Subban assisted on three goals Sunday, hoisting the Montreal Canadiens to a 5-2 win over Florida.

Ryder's goals came in the first and third periods -- each assisted by Subban. Brian Gionta, David Desharnais and Francis Bouillon added one score each for Montreal.

Peter Budaj backstopped the Habs' third straight win with 14 saves.

The reeling Panthers, meanwhile, fell for the sixth time in seven contests despite tallies from Shawn Matthias and Tomas Kopecky.

Jacob Markstrom turned aside 33-of-38 shots for Florida.
