Radwanska broke open a tight first set by winning 11 consecutive points in one stretch. She was able to finish off four of her 12 break-point chances, going 2-for-6 in each set.

Wickmayer dropped to 3-6 in WTA finals. Her most recent title came in Auckland in 2010 and she returned to the championship match in 2011 but lost to Greta Arn. That was the first in an active string of four title match losses for Wickmayer.

Radwanska was given $40,000 along with the championship trophy while Wickmayer settled for $20,000.
