NFL: New Orleans 34, Dallas 31 (OT)

ARLINGTON, Texas, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Garrett Hartley booted a 20-yard field goal in overtime and the New Orleans Saints turned back a Dallas comeback Sunday, beating the Cowboys 34-31.

Dallas had forced overtime with a late rally that erased a 14-point deficit, capped by Tony Romo's 19-yard pass to Miles Austin with 15 seconds left.

But the Cowboys couldn't score on their first overtime possession, giving Hartley the opportunity to pull out the victory for the Saints (7-8), who logged their second straight win.

Drew Brees amassed 446 passing yards with three touchdowns on 37-of-53 efficiency and Marques Colston finished with 153 yards on 10 receptions for New Orleans.

The Saints' Darren Sproles contributed 101 receiving yards on seven catches as well as 48 rushing yards on nine carries.

Romo went 26-of-43 through the air for 416 yards and three scores for Dallas (8-7), which fell out of first place in the NFC East with the loss.

Dez Bryant led the Cowboys' receiving corps with nine catches for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
