NBA: Boston 92, Philadelphia 79

BOSTON, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Boston's Kevin Garnett put in 19 points and the Celtics avenged their loss to Philadelphia the night before with a 92-79 victory over the 76ers Saturday.

Garnett connected on 9-of-11 from the field, and Rajon Rondo provided seven points, nine rebounds and 11 assists for the Celtics, who fell to the 76ers in overtime Friday.

Jeff Green provided 16 points, while Paul Pierce (13) and Brandon Bass (10) also helped out on the offensive end for Boston.

Thaddeus Young struck for 22 points for the Sixers, who lost for the third time in four games overall.

Evan Turner netted 13 points and Jrue Holiday finished with 11 and eight assists for Philadelphia.
