WASHINGTON, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Lewis Neal scored the go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute Saturday and D.C. United got back into playoff position with a 2-1 win over New England.
Neal's left-footed shot past diving New England goalkeeper Matt Reis broke a 1-1 tie and carried United (13-10-5) into the fifth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Chris Pontius scored in the 32nd minute to erase a 1-0 deficit for United, which broke a three-match winless streak.
Kelyn Rowe scored for the Revolution (7-15-7), who were officially eliminated from post-season contention.
