ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Matt Joyce's two-run single highlighted a big second inning Sunday that lifted Tampa Bay to an 8-3 win and a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Angels.
The Rays took a 2-0 lead when Angels starter Zack Greinke (1-2) forced in two runs by hitting Elliot Johnson with the bases loaded and then issuing a walk to B.J. Upton.
Joyce completed the rally by lining a hit to right field for a 4-0 advantage, and the American League wild card-leading Rays never looked back.
Ryan Roberts added a two-run homer and Carlos Pena contributed a two-run double, as red-hot Tampa Bay won for the 11th time in 13 games overall.
Matt Moore (10-7) held an opponent to two runs or less for the seventh consecutive start, yielding a pair of runs on five hits over 6 1/3 innings. He allowed two walks and struck out five.
Greinke was roughed up for six runs on seven hits in six frames for the Angels, who fell to 5-13 in August.
Mike Trout and Albert Pujols socked solo homers for Los Angeles.
