HOUSTON, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Yovani Gallardo struck out eight over 7 2/3 innings Sunday, boosting the Milwaukee Brewers to a 5-3 victory over Houston.
Gallardo (11-8) yielded three runs on nine hits, walking a pair in winning his third straight start.
The right-hander also singled home a run as the Brewers broke an 11-game road losing streak.
Jose Veras got the final out of the eighth inning and Kameron Loe earned his first save despite allowing a hit, committing a throwing error and tossing a wild pitch in the ninth.
Corey Hart socked a solo homer while Rickie Weeks, Ryan Braun and Martin Maldonado also contributed RBI.
Houston's Jordan Lyles (2-9) absorbed the loss, allowing four runs (two earned) on eight hits over seven full frames.
Marwin Gonzalez drove in a pair of runs for the Astros.
