MLB: Houston 5, Cincinnati 3

HOUSTON, June 3 (UPI) -- Jordan Lyles notched his first win of the season with seven strong innings Sunday and Houston broke an eight-game slide with a 5-3 win over Cincinnati.

Lyles (1-1) broke a personal four-start winless streak with the performance, in which he allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings.

The second-year right-hander walked two and struck out three for the Astros, who logged their first victory since May 25.

Brett Myers racked up his 13th save with a 1-2-3 ninth to secure Houston's win.

Justin Maxwell bashed a two-run, pinch-hit homer while Jason Castro and Marwin Gonzalez each added two hits and an RBI for the Astros.

Reds starter Bronson Arroyo (2-4) was touched for five runs on eight hits over 6 1/3 innings.

Zack Cozart went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer for Cincinnati.
