MLB: Washington 2, Atlanta 0

WASHINGTON, June 2 (UPI) -- Washington's Stephen Strasburg struck out nine in seven shutout innings Saturday and the Nationals continued their dominance of Atlanta with a 2-0 win.

Strasburg (6-1) baffled the Braves while tossing 59 of his 90 pitches for strikes and lowering his ERA to 2.35. The right-hander scattered four hits and didn't allow a walk in winning his third straight start.

Sean Burnett tossed a scoreless eighth and Tyler Clippard notched his fourth save to complete the shutout for National League East-leading Washington, which defeated division rival Atlanta for the sixth straight time.

Jesus Flores homered and Xavier Nady added an RBI double to provide the Nats' scoring.

Atlanta starter Brandon Beachy (5-4), the NL earned run average leader, was touched for two runs on three hits over 6 1/3 innings, walking four and fanning six.
