ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 22 (UPI) -- Carlos Pena hit a three-run homer Tuesday, sparking a 14-hit attack that powered the Tampa Bay Rays past Toronto 8-5.
B.J. Upton and Luke Scott each added a solo shot while Chris Gimenez drove in a pair of runs for the Rays, who evened their three-game set against American League East rivals Toronto.

Burke Badenhop (1-1) earned the win in relief of starter Matt Moore, who surrendered four runs (two earned) over 4 2/3 innings.
Fernando Rodney picked up his 14th save for Tampa Bay.
Blue Jays starter Drew Hutchison (3-2) was tagged for six runs on seven hits before exiting after four innings.
Jose Bautista went 3-for-4 with a two-run single for Toronto.
