NEW YORK, May 6 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony's 41 points Sunday helped the New York Knicks avoid post-season elimination with an 89-87 victory over Miami.
Anthony's performance enabled the Knicks to break an NBA-record 13-game playoff losing streak and stay alive in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.

Amare Stoudemire, who missed Game 3 after cutting his hand following New York's Game 2 loss in Miami, netted 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Knicks logged their first playoff victory since 2001.
They now trail the Heat 3-1 heading into Wednesday's Game 5 in Miami.
LeBron James put in 27 points, Dwyane Wade added 22 and Chris Bosh chipped in 17 for the Heat.
