After Matt Treanor's sacrifice fly in the second inning broke a scoreless tie, the hurler followed by lacing a pitch into the right-center field gap, chasing home Bobby Abreu and James Loney for a 3-0 Dodgers lead.

Dee Gordon added two hits and an RBI double for the National League West-leading Dodgers, who evened their three-game series at Wrigley Field.

Cubs starter Chris Volstad (0-4) remained winless in 2012, surrendering all five Los Angeles runs on four hits in a five-inning effort.

Ian Stewart had an RBI single and Starlin Castro went 3-for-4 with a run scored for Chicago.
