MLB: Toronto 11, Texas 5

TORONTO, May 2 (UPI) -- Yunel Escobar had a bases-load triple and Edwin Encarnacion added a three-run home run Wednesday in Toronto's 11-5 win over the Texas Rangers.

The Blue Jays battered Texas starter Matt Harrison (3-2) for eight hits and eight runs -- all earned -- in 3 2/3 innings. Wednesday's result combined with Toronto's victory Tuesday to mark the first back-to-back losses for the Rangers this season.

Blue Jays starter Ricky Romero improved to 4-0 with an eight-inning outing in which he allow six hits and five runs. He walked three and struck out six.

Brandon Snyder spotted Texas the lead in the second with his first home run of the season. Toronto went ahead in the third with a two-run home run by Kelly Johnson, who has six homers this year.

The Blue Jays added six runs in the fourth, a rally that was highlighted by Escobar's triple to right-center.

Texas made it 8-5 the next inning when Romero walked the first three batters he faced. Elvis Andrus doubled in two runs and Michael Young and Mike Napoli got the other RBI.

Encarnacion, with a drive well beyond the left-field wall, pushed the advantage back to six runs with his ninth home run of the season.

Encarnacion's nine home runs is tied for the American League lead and Romero's four victories is tied for the major-league lead.
