MLB: Tampa Bay 6, Minnesota 2

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 22 (UPI) -- Jeff Niemann delivered 5 1/3 strong innings and Desmond Jennings drove in three runs Sunday in the Tampa Bay Rays' 6-2 victory over Minnesota.

Niemann (1-2) had a no-hitter through 4 2/3 innings and left with the bases loaded in the fifth. The right-hander ended up allowing two runs on three hits, walking two and striking out five.

Jennings' sacrifice fly in the third put the Rays ahead for good and he later added a two-run homer as the Rays took the rubber match of a three-game set against the Twins.

B.J. Upton also contributed a pair of sacrifice flies for Tampa Bay.

Minnesota's Francisco Liriano (0-3) was tagged for five runs on three hits over five frames. The Twins hurler yielded four walks and fanned four while seeing his ERA balloon to 11.02.

Ryan Doumit drove in both Minnesota runs.
