NBA: Los Angeles Lakers 93, New Orleans 91

NEW ORLEANS, April 9 (UPI) -- Metta World Peace sank a crucial 3-pointer late the game Monday, propelling the Los Angeles Lakers to a 93-91 win over New Orleans.

Playing a second straight game without superstar guard Kobe Bryant, the Lakers were unable to pull away from New Orleans until World Peace drained a go-ahead trey with 1:26 remaining.

He finished with eight points, including six down the stretch, and Pau Gasol supplied 25 points and nine rebounds as the Lakers snapped a two-game losing streak.

Andrew Bynum helped out with18 points and 11 boards, while Ramon Sessions provided 17 points, six rebounds and six assists in the Los Angeles win.

The Hornets, losers of five of their last seven games, got 20 points each from Carl Landry and Marco Belinelli.
