MLB: Kansas City 6, Los Angeles Angels 3

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 7 (UPI) -- Luke Hochevar tossed 6 1/3 strong innings and Kansas City banged out 12 hits Saturday in its 6-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels.

Hochevar (1-0) yielded two runs on five hits and two walks, fanning four for the Royals, who rebounded after Friday's opening day loss at Anaheim.

Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas each smacked solo homers, and Jeff Francoeur added a two-run single in the victory.

Dan Haren (0-1) was lit up for five runs on 11 hits in a 5 1/3-inning start for the Angels, issuing one walk and striking out five.

Bobby Abreu delivered a two-run double and Kendry Morales went 4-for-4 with two runs scored for Los Angeles.
