Niklas Backstrom made 26 saves and also stopped Justin Williams and Mike Richards in the tiebreaker to earn the victory.

Brad Richardson scored twice and Dustin Brown also recorded a goal for the Kings, whose loss -- coupled with the Phoenix Coyotes' victory over Anaheim Saturday -- put them into a statistical tie with the Coyotes with 91 points atop the Pacific Division.

The Kings, however, still held first place with three games remaining due to a head-to-head tiebreaker.

Jonathan Bernier turned aside 20 shots for Los Angeles.
