NEWARK, N.J., March 21 (UPI) -- Nene scored 22 points with 10 rebounds in his Washington debut Wednesday, bringing the Wizards a rare win with a 108-89 triumph over New Jersey.
Nene was dealt from Denver to Washington at the trade deadline last week and he promptly helped the Wizards to just their 11th win of the season. Only Charlotte, with seven, has fewer.
Jordan Crawford had 23 points for Washington and Roger Mason came off the bench to score 16. The Wizards closed the third period on an 18-8 run that gave them a 12-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
Deron Williams led New Jersey with 17 points, but he was kicked out of the game along with Coach Avery Johnson in the third period. The Nets, who have lost four in a row, got 13 points and 16 rebounds from Kris Humphries.
