NBA: Boston 79, Atlanta 76

ATLANTA, March 19 (UPI) -- Ray Allen heated up down the stretch Monday, scoring 17 second-half points in the Boston Celtics' 79-76 decision over Atlanta.

Allen had only two points prior to that, as the Celtics could manage just 35 percent shooting from the field over the first three quarters.

They connected at a 50-percent clip in the final quarter, improving to 3-3 on an eight-game road trip.

Kevin Garnett scored 16 points and Rajon Rondo had 10 points and 13 assists for the Celtics.

Atlanta got a game-high 25 points from Joe Johnson.
