NHL: Carolina 2, St. Louis 0

RALEIGH, N.C., March 15 (UPI) -- Cam Ward outdueled Brian Elliott and picked up his fourth shutout of the season Thursday in bringing the Carolina Hurricanes a 2-0 decision over St. Louis.

The game was scoreless into the third period but Chad LaRose and Jeff Skinner finally broke through against Elliott. That snapped a two-game skid for Carolina and gave the Blues their second straight loss.
