Brian Burke, coach of Victory Honda, a Plymouth-based midget major under-18 team, said several of his players began vomiting before a game, two of whom went to the hospital.

Others sick players "felt like they could play" in their 6:30 p.m. game against the Little Caesars, Burke said.

"As the game went on, six or seven additional guys were throwing up on the bench," Burke told The Detroit News.

Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the players to become ill, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Taylor Fire Chief Bob Tompos said the Taylor Sportsplex was shut down so tests could be run on air quality and water. Public health department officials have been contacted.
