NBA: Sacramento 99, New Orleans 98

SACRAMENTO, March 8 (UPI) -- Isaiah Thomas came up with a steal and fed John Salmons for a reverse layup with 7 seconds left Wednesday to give Sacramento a 99-98 win over New Orleans.

The dramatic conclusion allowed the Kings to end a four-game skid. New Orleans lost its third straight and remained stuck on nine victories for the season.

New Orleans had a one-point lead and the ball with time running out when Thomas made an attempt at a steal. He failed in his first try and succeeded only in picking up a foul.

The Kings, however, were not yet in the bonus so there were no free throws. The next attempt by Thomas succeeded as he swiped the ball from Trevor Ariza, setting up the layup by Salmons.

Ariza then missed a fadeaway jumper at the buzzer.

Marcus Thornton led the Kings with 25 points, while Tyreke Evans had 13. Salmons was one of three Sacramento players with 12 points.

New Orleans, which is 0-2 on a four-game trip, was paced by Jarrett Jack with 25.
