NBA: Golden State 120, Washington 100

WASHINGTON, March 5 (UPI) -- Monta Ellis ignited Golden State to a quick start Monday and the Warriors coasted to a 120-100 whipping of Washington.

The Warriors closed out a six-game road trip with a 3-3 record, hitting 54 percent of their shots from the field and making 15-of-23 from 3-point range. Washington lost for the seventh time in eight games.

Ellis scored 25 points while making 10-of-16 from the field. Klay Thompson made four 3-pointers and scored 18 points for the Warriors and Ekpe Udoh had 17 points.

Golden State held Washington to just two points over the final 3:08 of the first period and to only two more during the opening 3:55 of the second. As a result, the Warriors built a 23-point lead.

Washington was led by 25 points from Nick Young.
