NBA: San Antonio 95, Memphis 82

SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- San Antonio's Manu Ginobili pumped in 24 points Monday and the Spurs downed Memphis 95-82 in the season opener for both teams.

Tony Parker contributed 15 points, seven assists and four steals as the Spurs used a big run in the third quarter to prevail in a rematch of first-round playoff opponents from last season.

The eighth-seeded Grizzlies shocked the Spurs to win that six-game series.

San Antonio's Tim Duncan played just 21 minutes after being saddled with foul trouble, finishing with 10 points and six rebounds.

Rudy Gay, who missed last year's playoffs with a shoulder injury, notched 19 points and 10 rebounds in his return to the Grizzlies' lineup.
