COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Steven Stamkos scored his 20th goal of the season and Mathieu Garon made 24 saves Saturday in the Tampa Bay Lightning's 3-2 win over Columbus.
Stamkos became the first NHL player to reach the 20-goal mark with what turned out to be the game-winner midway through the final frame off a feed from Vincent Lecavalier.

Garon, a former Blue Jacket who left the team to sign a two-deal deal with the Lightning during the off-season, stopped all 12 shots he saw in the final period.
R.J. Umberger and Rick Nash found the net and Steve Mason made 25 stops for the Blue Jackets.
