ARLINGTON, Texas, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Mike Napoli socked a go-ahead two-run double in the eighth inning Monday and the Texas Rangers downed St. Louis 4-2, taking a 3-2 lead in the World Series.

Napoli followed by blasting a pitch into the right-center field gap, sending Young and Cruz around with the go-ahead runs.

The Rangers catcher helped seal the win in the ninth by throwing out the Cardinals' Allen Craig on an attempted steal of second, preserving a save for Neftali Feliz.

Mitch Moreland and Adrian Beltre contributed solo home runs and Darren Oliver (1-0) was credited with the win for the Rangers, who will try to wrap up their first World Series title in Wednesday's Game 6 at St. Louis.
