MLB: Milwaukee 10, Cincinnati 1

CINCINNATI, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Ryan Braun added to his sensational season with a three-run homer and four RBI Saturday, leading Milwaukee to an 10-1 whipping of Cincinnati.

The Milwaukee win, combined with a St. Louis loss to Philadelphia, moved the Brewers into a 6 1/2-game lead in the National League Central. Milwaukee has 10 games remaining and St. Louis has 11 left to play.

Braun came into the game with a .330 batting average and he went 3-for-5 against the Reds. He singled in a run in the first and then hit his three-run blast in the seventh to give him 103 RBI for the season.

He has 31 home runs and is the second player in Brewers history to produce 30 homers and 30 steals in the same season. Tommy Harper was the only other one to do so.

Yuniesky Betancourt also had a solo homer for Milwaukee, which has won four of its last five.

Yovani Gallardo (17-10) allowed a run on two hits and struck out a career-best 13 while working six innings. The loss was charged to Edinson Volquez (5-6), who was touched for five runs on six hits in 6 2/3.
