MILWAUKEE, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Shane Victorino's double touched off a streak of eight straight two-out baserunners in the sixth Thursday, leading Philadelphia to a 7-2 win over Milwaukee.
The Phillies scored six runs on seven hits in the inning and then coasted to their fourth straight victory.
In a meeting of potential playoff opponents, Cole Hamels (14-7) went the distance for the third time this season and for the 10th time in his six-year career. Hamels won for the first time since Aug. 6, allowing two runs on four hits with two strikeouts.
Philadelphia trailed 1-0 heading into the sixth and starter Chris Narveson (10-7) retired the first two men in the inning.
Victorino then started the offensive surge with his double and scored on a double by Wilson Valdez. Placido Polanco followed with a walk and Hunter Pence tripled to bring home two runs.
An infield single by John Mayberry delivered Pence, after which Mayberry stole second and scored on a ground-rule double from Carlos Ruiz. Ben Francisco's single scored Ruiz with the final run of the inning.
Michael Martinez added a single before the Brewers finally got out of the inning.
