MLS: Los Angeles 2, Kansas City 2 (tie)

KANSAS CITY, Kan., Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Omar Bravo scored on a penalty kick in the 90th minute Monday, lifting Sporting Kansas City into a 2-2 tie with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

A cross from Julio Cesar went into the penalty area and nipped the arm of Galaxy defender Frankie Hejduk, drawing a whistle. Bravo made Los Angeles pay by burying the spot kick to claim a point for Sporting.

Los Angeles was playing its first MLS game since Aug. 20 -- the Galaxy's previous game against New York was postponed due to Hurricane Irene.
