MLS: Chicago 2, Colorado 0

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Dominic Oduro and Cory Gibbs tallied first-period goals Saturday and the Chicago Fire went on to post a 2-0 decision over the Colorado Rapids.

Oduro put the Fire ahead for good in the 17th minute when he collected a pass from Pavel Pardo on a fast break and fired a shot past Colorado goalkeeper Matt Pickens -- his ninth goal of the year.

Gibbs made it 2-0 in the 36th, heading a Sebastian Grazzini cross into the net for Chicago (4-7-15), which stretched its unbeaten streak to four matches and logged its second consecutive win.

Colorado (10-7-11) saw its own unbeaten streak come to a halt at seven games.
