BALTIMORE, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- A former Baltimore Ravens player has been released on $50,000 bail pending a trial on charges related to his arrest at his Baltimore County home.

Police said they went to the home of Jermaine Lewis after receiving reports of Lewis' car weaving on local roads and running over road signs, The Baltimore Sun reported Wednesday.

Police said Lewis, 36, was found in his home smelling of alcohol, and resisted when an officer attempted to place him in handcuffs and had to be subdued with a Taser.

Lewis, who returned a kickoff for a touchdown in the team's 2001 Super Bowl victory, has been charged with reckless driving and resisting arrest.

Police said Lewis had previously had his driving privileges revoked or suspended.
