TOLEDO, Ohio, July 31 (UPI) -- Olin Browne completed his first major championship with an even-par 71 Sunday, taking the U.S. Senior Open by three strokes.
Browne's only birdie of the day came on the final hole while finishing at 15-under-par 269 and wrapping up a dominating performance at the Inverness Club.

After setting several records earlier in the tournament, Browne came up two strokes shy of the event's 72-hole scoring mark.
Mark O'Meara couldn't gain enough momentum to catch Browne, carding a 1-over 72 to finish alone in second place at minus-12.
Mark Calcavecchia registered a 2-under 69 to take third at 11-under 273.
