PHILADELPHIA, July 29 (UPI) -- Chase Utley hit a three-run homer to highlight Philadelphia's fast start Friday and the Phillies went on to down Pittsburgh 10-3.
Philadelphia built an 8-0 lead through two innings and rolled to a victory that halted a two-game skid.
Utley had an RBI triple to kick off a three-run first and scored on a double by Ryan Howard. The Utley homer came during a five-run second, two of the runs in the inning being unearned thanks to a fielding error by second baseman Neil Walker.
Jimmy Rollins contributed a two-run homer for the Phillies in the seventh.
Roy Halladay (13-4) coasted to the victory, giving up a hit over seven scoreless innings. He struck out five.
Charlie Morton (8-6) allowed eight runs on nine hits in four innings to suffer the loss.
