MLB: Toronto 3, Texas 0

ARLINGTON, Texas, July 24 (UPI) -- Brett Cecil fired a four-hit shutout Sunday and the Toronto Blue Jays scored all their runs in the sixth inning of their 3-0 victory over Texas.

Cecil (3-4) struck out seven while issuing a pair of walks in notching his first career shutout and second complete game. His first nine-inning effort came July 5 against Boston.

The left-hander, who spent most of May and June pitching in the minor leagues after being demoted, improved to 2-2 since being recalled June 30. He found the strike zone on 77 of his 121 pitches Sunday.

Toronto broke a scoreless tie in the sixth on RBI doubles from Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Travis Snider, salvaging one win in a three-game series against Texas.

Rangers starter Alexi Ogando (10-4) was touched for three runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings, walking two and fanning six.
