MLB: Baltimore 8, Cleveland 3

BALTIMORE, July 17 (UPI) -- Robert Andino rallied Baltimore with a three-run homer Sunday and the Orioles went deep four times in their 8-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians.

Trailing 3-1 entering the fifth, the O's began a comeback when Matt Wieters led off with a single and went to second one out later on Mark Reynolds' hit.

That's when Andino smacked a 3-1 pitch just beyond the outstretched glove of left fielder Michael Brantley and over the fence, giving Baltimore the lead for good.

Nick Markakis, Adam Jones and Matt Wieters all hit solo shots for the O's, who took three wins in a four-game series with the Indians.

Mark Hendrickson (1-0) was credited with the victory thanks to three scoreless innings in relief of starter Mitch Atkins, who yielded three runs on six hits over three frames.

Jeanmar Gomez (0-2) absorbed the loss for the Indians, who maintained a half-game lead over Detroit atop the American League Central despite the loss. Gomez surrendered five runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings.

Travis Hafner and Carlos Santana hit solo homers for the Tribe.
