INVERNESS, Scotland, July 9 (UPI) -- The Scottish Open will be shortened to 54 holes after rain forced the cancellation of Saturday's third round, tournament officials said.
The conditions at Castle Stuart Golf Links were deemed unplayable Saturday after rain had also washed out part of Friday's second round.

Those players who were still on the course Friday when the rain struck will return early Sunday to finish the second round, with the third and final round to start immediately thereafter.
More rain was forecast for Sunday, however.
Graeme McDowell, Scott Jamieson and Peter Whiteford were tied for the lead at 11-under 133.
