Semifinals set in Hall of Fame event

NEWPORT, R.I., July 8 (UPI) -- Olivier Rochus and Michael Yani earned semifinal berths Friday at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships.

Rochus, who lost in the finals of this event a year ago, defeated Matthew Ebden 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 in their quarterfinal match at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Yani, playing in his first ATP tournament of the season, won over 18-year-old Denis Kudla 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 7-5.

The two winners will meet in Saturday's semifinal. The other semifinal match will send top-seeded John Isner against Tobias Kamke, both of whom advanced Thursday.
