NEW YORK, July 2 (UPI) -- Curtis Granderson hit a tie-breaking homer and Bartolo Colon threw six shutout innings Saturday in the New York Yankees' 5-2 win over the crosstown Mets.
The interleague game remained scoreless until one out in the sixth, when Granderson socked his 22nd homer, triggering a four-run outburst that boosted the Yanks to their season-best, seventh straight win.
Robinson Cano added a two-run triple and scored on Nick Swisher's sacrifice fly to cap the offensive outburst.
Eduardo Nunez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the first-place Yankees.
Colon (6-3) came off the disabled list with a strained hamstring to hurl six scoreless frames, scattering five hits, walking none and striking out six.
Mets starter Dillon Gee (8-2) surrendered four runs on seven hits in a seven-inning effort. The right-hander issued three walks and fanned seven.
Lucas Duda collected two hits and drove in a run for Mets, who lost all-star shortstop Jose Reyes to an apparent hamstring injury after the second inning.
