MLB: Philadelphia 5, Boston 0

PHILADELPHIA, June 28 (UPI) -- Cliff Lee tossed his third straight shutout Tuesday, blanking the Red Sox on two hits and booting Philadelphia to a 5-0 interleague win over Boston.

Lee (9-5) was dominant, yielding only a single to Marco Scutaro and a double to Darnell McDonald. Lee gave up two walks and struck out five as the Phillies won the first of a three-game series against Boston.

The left-hander became the first pitcher to throw three straight shutouts since Brandon Webb turned the trick for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2007 and the first for the Phillies since Robin Roberts in 1950.

Lee has tossed 32 consecutive scoreless frames and finished June by allowing one earned run over 42 innings.

Domonic Brown and Shane Victorino each smacked two-run homers for the first-place Phillies, who improved to a major league-best 50-30.

Red Sox starter Josh Beckett (6-3) was touched for five runs on five hits over six innings.
