MLB: Cincinnati 5, Tampa Bay 0

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 27 (UPI) -- Mike Leake and two relievers combined on a six-hit shutout Monday and the Cincinnati Reds whitewashed Tampa Bay 5-0.

Leake (7-4) broke a personal two-game losing streak by tossing six scoreless frames, scattering four hits, walking two and striking out three.

Sam LeCure followed with two shutout innings and Nick Masset finished up with a scoreless ninth for the Reds, who took the first of a three-game interleague series.

Brandon Phillips went 4-for-5, driving in two runs and scoring two, while Jonny Gomes added a solo homer for Cincinnati.

Jeremy Hellickson (7-7) absorbed the loss, his fourth in four starts. The rookie right-hander yielded four runs (three earned) on eight hits in a six-inning effort.

The Rays lost for the first time in five games..
