MLB: Texas 8, Houston 3

ARLINGTON, Texas, June 20 (UPI) -- Adrian Beltre had three hits and drove in runs in each of the first two innings Monday, helping the Texas Rangers down Houston 8-3 in an interleague contest.

Beltre broke a scoreless tie in the first with an RBI single and made it 6-0 in the second, driving in Josh Hamilton with a single after Hamilton had blasted a two-run triple.

Craig Gentry went 3-for-4 with an RBI double for the Rangers, who defeated their intrastate rivals for the 11th time in 13 games as they resumed their annual home-and-home rivalry series with the Astros.

Derek Holland (6-2) earned the victory, going 7 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits while walking three batters and fanning four.

Houston's J.A. Happ (3-9) lasted only 2 2/3 frames. He was lit up for seven runs (five earned) on eight hits before exiting.

Jason Michaels hit a pair of run-scoring singles for Houston.
