MLS: Columbus 2, Houston 0

HOUSTON, June 19 (UPI) -- Andres Mendoza and Bernardo Anor found the net Saturday, handing the Columbus Crew a 2-0 victory and their first-ever win at Houston.

Mendoza opened the scoring in the 41st minute after getting a through-ball from Anor, who had stolen the ball from Houston's Bobby Boswell at midfield and booted it past goalkeeper Tally Hall.

The Dynamo (4-6-6), despite playing with 10 men, almost made it 1-1 in the 56th minute when Will Bruin got off a nice shot, but Columbus goalkeeper Will Hesmer kept it out, as well as a rebound attempt from Colin Clark.

Anor got the insurance tally for the Crew (5-4-6) in the 77th minute after receiving a low cross from Justin Meram and put his shot off Hall's chest and into the net.
