MLB: Los Angeles Angels 4, Seattle 0

SEATTLE, June 15 (UPI) -- Jared Weaver went the distance Tuesday, leading the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to a 4-0 shutout of the Seattle Mariners.

Weaver (8-4) limited the host team to five hits and a walk, and struck out six en route to his fourth career whitewash.

Ichiro Suzuki and Mike Carp both had a pair of hits for the Mariners, who were 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. Seattle has lost seven of its last 11 games.

Doug Fister (3-8) took the loss after giving up four runs on seven hits over seven innings. He struck out five.

The Angels scored all of their runs in the first inning on five hits and a fielding error in right field by Suzuki.
